It’s in the rough waters of the Magdalen Islands that Dakar fishermen go to harvest mussels, oysters and barnacles. Working in teams of two or three divers, freediving to depths of no more than ten metres, they bring in around twenty kilos of shellfish every day.

Mbour is one of the major fishing ports of the Senegalese coast. The pirogues embark there every day their contingent of men. Young and old, they go out, up to fifty kilometers offshore, to capture in large nets the tons of sardines that will feed the whole country.
