Syria, 2012. During the coldest winter ever witnessed, all Sana dreams of is cooking gas to prepare a meal for her son. She takes a day off from her job to search for a gas cylinder and suddenly finds herself stuck in an area under siege. It is then that she discovers that people lose their shadows during war.
Born in France in 1979, Soudade Kaadan is a Syrian director.
She studied Critical Theatre in Damascus, Syria, then Cinema at the Institute of Scenic, Audiovisual and Cinematographic Studies(ISACS) in Saint Joseph University in Beirut, Lebanon.
Her films have been selected and awarded in many international festivals.
