The Pokot people reside in the northwest region of Kenya and in parts of Uganda. Proud and fiercely independent, the Pokots possess a very strong culture and particularly vivid traditions. Among these One of these traditions is the mutilation of young girls: an obligatory passage from childhood to adulthood.
This film is a compilation of accounts from those who live this tradition – those who combat and those who submit to it.
